Wedding

Personally, weddings are occasions that I just love attending. It thrills me to see how a bride, usually smiling but teary-eyed, walks on the aisle, while her groom, usually fidgety, waits for her. I do not know if it is just me, but there is that wonderful feeling of mixed emotions in the air. Sometimes, you just cannot help but be teary-eyed, too.We know that a wedding is part of a set of traditions that have been passed from one generation to another. It is a ceremony where, as the cliché goes, two people are made as one. Wedding ceremonies may differ from one culture to another, but if there is one thing that is universally accepted, that is, it is one of the special occasions being looked forward to. While the wedding ceremony itself is considered as the most important part of the whole event, there are certain things that are taken into consideration, certain preparations that lead to it. Of course, these include the invitations, the reception, and so on. Moreover, stereotypical as it may sound, every girl must look her best during her wedding day. As you might have observed in many weddings, the wedding gown and wedding jewellery are given much importance and being looked forward to, not only by the bride and groom themselves, but also by the people that surround them. Indeed, a wedding is not just a ceremony where two people get to say "I do" to each other. It is one special occasion that a girl, most especially, would like to cherish forever; hence, pictorials and video coverage are being done. It is an event that people want to look back time and time again. Thus, it is but natural that a bride should be the center of attraction in the entire event and a great way to achieve that is to choose the right gown, pieces of bridal jewellery, make up, or the whole look, for that matter.

Another attraction in weddings is the entourage, especially the bridesmaids. While being a bridesmaid means assisting the bride throughout the event, it also means looking good for the event. A bridesmaid also makes preparations such as their gown, shoes, and bridesmaid jewellery. I have been a bridesmaid myself and it is such a joy for a girl like me to look around jewellery shops and see which pieces of jewellery will suit my gown as well as the motif of the wedding that I will be attending. You see, a wedding is also a bonding moment among the bride's and groom's family and friends. As a girl myself, I know how fun it is to discuss with my friends some "girl stuff" such as make up, shoes, and jewellery. The social aspect of a wedding where you get to meet new faces is another reason why it is worthy of all the preparations you have made and the time you have spent.

Of course, it is a given that we should not forget the true meaning of a wedding ceremony. To many, it is a sacred event more than anything else. It is also an important social practice where two people start to form the basic unit of the society, that is, the family. But together with the religious and political aspect of this special occasion is the spirit of fun, which every bride, groom, and their loved ones must not overlook. Amidst the preparations that can be stressful at times is the sense of fulfillment of sharing this event with the people you care about and turning it into a wonderful memory.

Wedding Invitation: Points to remember while deciding!

Wedding is the most important part of anybody’s life as after getting married, one will be responsible for his/her husband or wife. It is the moment that is the most special and celebrated with love all the way. Preparing for wedding is the most time consuming and difficult part of a wedding as nobody wants to empty their wallets after the marriage is over, so it is really important to plan everything be it the venue, be it the menu of the reception, the wedding dresses and most importantly the wedding invitation which has its own essence to play even before the wedding took place. All these should be done after deciding upon the budget carefully.

Wedding invitations or marriage cards offer a preview of the wedding and create a good impression about the couple. So it is always good to be original on your invitations rather than just settling for the generic pre-written ones. You should write your own invitation to describe how special this event is and how important it is to you that your guests attend the ceremony. Wedding cards range in all prices, styles and designs. You should keep in mind various points some tips from websites like vponsale that may affect your final choice of the card are –

1. The venue of the marriage – It should be kept in mind that your card must correlate with the type of setting you are getting married in like you may choose a venue in church, beach, outdoor, formal or a casual environment.

2. Season of the wedding – The season of your wedding has a lot to do with your card as it will be mandatory for you to design the card having a feel of the season in which you are getting married.

3. Themed wedding – In case you have planned a particular theme for your wedding then you must use the same theme in your invitation as well so that everything properly compliments the overall theme of your marriage.

4. Photo or symbol on the invitation – If you are about to use any photo or symbol on the cover of your wedding invitations make sure it speaks about you and you fiancĂ©e. You might consider putting up your own photo together on the invitation.

5. Color of your invitation – Colors speaks volumes about the persona and choice of the person so it is really important to choose the right color for your card that can compliment both the personalities of the bride and bridegroom individually.

While the above points will assist you in designing your wedding invitation properly there are things to be remembered while drafting your card as well. Most importantly you must first decide as to who will go to announce the marriage in the card, it may be the bride and the groom themselves or the couple’s parents. Then choose either to be formal or informal in your request. You may choose to write the bride’s name with the full name of the groom using the casual term -’the honor of your presence’ if the ceremony will be held in a place of worship. Finally do mention the date, time and exact address of the location with a map too.

Wedding Lighting

Many a time the issue of lighting at wedding receptions has not been taken seriously resulting in making the place look like some any other room without ambience and the glamour it ought to have. Wedding Lights are an essential part of every wedding, from small weddings to large weddings. But a surprising number of couples never realize they should also plan the appropriate wedding lights. First, ask your event designer or wedding florist, many do their own lighting. Some people hire special lighting coordinators who will ensure that couples have as much stunning and cutting-edge lighting as possible. Light coordinators will also work with your photographers to ensure optimal picture possibilities and special-effect planning. Without the proper light, pictures may not turn out as well, the details of the floral centerpieces and wedding gown lace may be missed, and the happy couple won’t clearly see the smiling faces of their friends and family members.

Choosing wedding lighting also include what lighting is already available at the location? Will it be enough or is supplemental lighting needed? What mood do we want to set with the lighting? A party atmosphere of twinkle lights or a romantic setting of candles?

Whether you decide to use soft white lights, colorful strobes, spotlights, or candles, remember that each beam will add its own distinct radiance to your celebration. The light must be both reliable and attractive. Though the use of disco balls may not be appropriate for such a grand occasion, you can have UV black lights or moving mirror. They both create a fantastic atmosphere. But the most memorable light of all will come from the magic of a day filled with new and infinite beginnings.

Rehearsal Dinner Toasts Made Easy

The wedding rehearsal is an exciting event, because it’s usually the night before, or at least very close to, the wedding itself. Rehearsal dinners are less formal than the actual wedding dinner. But often, close family members and friends make rehearsal dinner toasts to the bride and groom. With an appropriate choice of words, good rehearsal dinner toasts can set the right mood for the big day. The guest list is usually the bridal and groom party, plus parents and close relations. It’s an intimate gathering with the people who know the couple the best and are there to celebrate the upcoming wedding and culmination of all of the months of planning for the big day.

The rehearsal dinner toast is for thanking the various people who planned the wedding and those who will be participating in it, and also to wish the couple lots of love and joy as they start their life together. The groom’s parents traditionally are responsible for the financial obligation of the rehearsal dinner, however any other close relative or friend may do the honor. Invitations may be sent two weeks before the wedding; or a simple phone call informing the guests of the time, location, and perhaps formality of dress. Usually they are informal affairs; however a classy restaurant can be a welcome counterpoint to a formal dinner.

The rehearsal dinner is usually held in a private home or a restaurant and is as formal or informal as the host would like. Special instrumental music will make this event even more elegant. Consider hiring a pianist, harpist, or a guitar duo.The toasts at the rehearsal dinner are given by the host of the event (usually the groom’s father) first. Next would be the bride’s father, then the best man offers a toast to the bride and groom. The bride & groom may also toast at the end of the others. The groom with a toast to his bride and her parents and the bride with a toast to her groom and his family. This is an opportunity for them to thank everybody for support, etc. during the engagement.

Wedding Transportation

Wedding transportation is something that brides often overlook. How the bride, groom and wedding party are going to get around on the big day. There are a few different types of wedding transportation options available to choose from to get everyone from Point A to Point B. While the most popular wedding vehicle is definitely the limousine, other options include antique and vintage cars, horse-drawn carriages, trolleys, and even large buses. We recommend that you book your wedding transportation six months to a year before your big day.Determine how many vehicles you’ll need for your wedding party, family members and guests. The typical wedding has cars for the bride and bridesmaids, and a second set for the groom and groomsmen. Usually, family members and guests make their own arrangements, but a lot depends on whether private vehicles are available. If all your wedding guests are from out of town, you may want to provide a way for them to get to the ceremony and reception site.

When hiring your wedding transportation, don’t depend on a phone call. Take time to do a personal inspection of the vehicles. Make a deposit and get a written agreement outlining the rental conditions and services you’ve selected.Decide if you want the limo (or other transportation) for the entire event, including taking everyone to the ceremony, from the ceremony to reception, and then home after the reception? This is the most expensive option’ There is some money to be saved by having pickup/drop off service only, so that the driver is not waiting for the entire event. If your budget is tight, you may ask the bridal party to drive themselves. A chauffeured town car is frequently less expensive than a chauffeured limousine, and will seat between three and six people.

We recommend that you have at least one limousine or town car to take the bride and bridesmaids to the ceremony, and a limousine or town car to take the bride and groom from the ceremony to the reception site. This will allow the girls to get dressed together and will allow your bridesmaids to stretch out, thus minimizing wrinkling of their dresses. It will also allow the bride and groom to have some time alone together where neither of them has to concentrate on the road.

Nowadays, wedding favours are available in a number of shapes, sizes and colours for any types of people – from young to kid to old. How-to Create Your Own Wedding Day Bouquets!

I may not know much, but I do know this: Weddings Are Expensive. And I’m not just talking about the main venues (reception hall, food, booze, dress, etc.); I’m talking about everything, and one wedding detail that are often times overlooked in expense are flowers. My poor father – who was constantly being told by my well-intentioned mother, “Just shut up and pay, William… just shut up and pay” – had a very hard time keeping quiet about the florist’s bill… so hard of a time, in fact, that he decided not to keep quiet at all. Haha!

I’m not kidding you, the man almost fell out of his chair when he read the circled price hovering over the dotted line. Then, while readjusting his specs and squinting his eyes, he almost immediately began making remarks that would hit home to fmost athers around the world. “Are you kidding me? For flowers?? Why on God’s green earth… (inaudible grumbles)… But they’re dead the next day!”

And while I love love love flowers (what girl doesn’t?) I’m afraid I had to agree. Like every bride, I had to find the balance between my dream wedding and our actual budget. We started throwing out ideas, and we decided it might be fun to make the bridesmaid bouquets ourselves and save on the expense of having a florists bring them in.
What You Will Need:

Flowers (focal, filler & greenery)
Vase
Vase Filler
Scissors
Floral Tape
Finishing Ribbon
Straight Pins
Any Additional Accessories of your Choosing (ie. lace, tulle, beads, etc.)

What You Will Do - First, gather your flowers, vase and vase filler. Be sure your vase is congruent to the size and shape you want your bouquet to be. Add in the vase filler of your choosing to the bottom of the vase. Sand, beans and pebbles all work nicely and will make arranging your flowers much easier.
